Benefits for contractors and freelancers for the construction and engineering industry
As a candidate working through Fawkes & Reece on a contract basis, you have three options on how you get paid:
Ltd Company
Set up and operate your own Ltd Company independently. Advice from an outside source can be provided. You will take responsibility for your own tax affairs.
Personal Services Company
Join a personal services company that allows you to enjoy the benefits of a Ltd company without the hassle, risks or liabilities. Fawkes & Reece have long standing relationships with a number of personal services companies allowing you to have the option on deciding the right solution for you.
Our accounts department is always on hand to offer advice on which option may be best for you. However we do insist that every candidate seeks their own independent financial advice before deciding which method to proceed with. As with the Ltd Company option, this method will allow you to gain a higher rate of pay.
PAYE
On a PAYE basis you will have tax and national insurance deducted from your weekly pay. When working on this basis you will accrue holiday pay which is calculated in accordance with and paid in proportion to the number of hours worked.
