PLANNING ENGINEER - CIVILS/RAIL - £30-40K - EAST CENTRAL LONDON

Our client are part of a leading civil engineering group operating within the rail sector. They work on civils projects within a rail environment and are seeking to employ a project planner to work within their rail division.

Your key duties as a planner will be:

* Production of project programme, using Primavera P3 for both current and forecast workloads ensuring all activities are fully resourced
* Monitor utilisation of resources against programme, in liaison with site planning and operations staff
* Production of performance and resource data to be included in monthly reports and divisional long term programmes
* Generation of possession planning information and weekend reporting system using Primavera P3
* Monitor and enhance current cost management systems and develop the use of cost loaded programmes into the P3 programme
* Develop systems as required to assist with overall reporting between P3 and associated software packages
* To ensure that all matters relating to planning are recorded and actioned
* Assist in the application of the risk management system as and when required
* Attend various meetings as and when required
* Collating site records relevant to all production issues
* Interface with clients as and when required
* Have a proactive approach to work, and give support and assistance to others
* Responsible for operating within the practice and procedures of the quality system
* Alerting senior management, QA Manager to any non-conformance or deficiency in quality, materials, services or workmanship
* Liaison and communication with company staff and contractors plus all relevant clients as required

You will:

* Come from an engineering background
* Be competent in the use of planning software
* Have a minimum 2 years experience as a planner
* Have worked within a rail environment
